Forward Deployment Engineer

Full Time

Welcome to the world of AI agents 🤖✨
If you’re excited about building intelligent systems that don’t just respond—but actually *do things*—you’re going to like it here.
We’re looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer to join us at Paystone. In this role, you’ll work directly with teams and customers to deeply understand their workflows, uncover pain points, and deliver practical, production-ready solutions. You’ll be embedded with the people you support, rapidly iterating and deploying AI agents and systems that make real impact every day.
You won’t just be handed tickets—you’ll help shape what we build. From discovery and prototyping to shipping live solutions, you’ll own the full lifecycle of these systems. You’ll act as a hybrid of engineer, product partner, and consultant, translating ambiguous problems into working software.
At Paystone, we’re growing fast, building in a space that’s evolving even faster, and figuring things out as we go (in the best way possible). If you like solving messy problems, experimenting with new tech, and actually seeing your work make an impact—this is your kind of environment. We don’t aim for “good enough.” We build things we’re proud of.
We’re a group of curious, motivated people who like to build cool things and solve real problems. There’s a lot of change, a lot of opportunity, and a lot of room to make your mark. We collaborate a lot, laugh a decent amount, and genuinely care about what we’re building—and who we’re building it with.
In this role, you’ll:
* Work directly with teams and customers to uncover high-impact AI opportunities and workflow improvements
* Rapidly design, build, and deploy AI agents and systems into production environments
* Customize solutions to fit real-world constraints—data, systems, and processes—while iterating quickly based on live feedback
* Translate business problems into actionable solutions on the fly
* Lead discovery sessions, prototype, and then productionize your solutions
* Work on undefined, high-impact problems where your decisions and trade-offs matter in real-time
* Build reusable frameworks and components to enable future AI initiatives
* Track adoption, performance, and effectiveness of the systems you deploy
* Act as a hybrid engineer, advisor, and problem-solver—bridging technical and business needs
You might be a great fit if you:
* Are a Python wizard with AI/ML experience (LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, MLflow, or similar)
* Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and enjoy rapid prototyping
* Love solving real-world problems and seeing the impact of your work immediately
* Are comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical users
* Have a builder + consultant mindset—able to design, implement, and guide solutions simultaneously
* Are curious, experimental, and passionate about making workflows smarter and easier
If you’re excited about building systems that feel a little bit like magic (but are actually just really well-designed), we’d love to meet you.
